LIONS CLUB OF DAR ES SALAAM TANZANITES PROMOTES PEACE VIA ART

 The winner from  International School of  Tanganyika (IST) Sreelakashmi Jayasankaran (11).

The Lions club of Dar es Salaam Tanzanites organized a Peace Poster competition on saturday 4.11.2017. The Lions Club International focuses on this activity to promote peace in the world for the past 30years. The event organized by Lions Club of  Dar es Salaam Tanzanites, 2 schools participated - The Aga Khan Mzizima Secondary School and The International School of Tanganyika.
They had 20 participants present their master pieces, which were judged by Mr. Paul Ufford (UNICEF member), Mr. Muzu Suleimanji (a renowned artist from Tanzania) and Mr. Pranay Shah a Professional from the Digital Media World- DTP).

It was a breathtaking moment to see the beautiful art works on display, which clearly portrayed the talent of our future generation – tomorrow’s leaders.

Each art work uniquely spoke about how important it is to them to have a peaceful world to live in, where everyone, every religion, caste, color and creed lived with love, peace and harmony.

The Peace Posters chosen here will go for further competition to the Lions District and Lions Club International that is in Chicago USA. The Grand Prize winner chosen in the International has a chance of winning up to 5000USD- This finale winner will be announced in February 2018.

The winners of the local level competition, from International School of Tanganyika was Sreelakashmi Jayasankaran and the winner from Aga Khan Mzizima Secondary School was Magenta Jumwa . We wish them all the best for further competition.
